Matt Fletcher
Our main man! With almost 30 years of experience and hundreds, possibly thousands of weddings and events under his belt it’s fair to say he knows his stuff, but is still as passionate now as the day he started!
Q: How would you describe your role on a wedding day?
It’s part host, part coordinator, part calm presence in the background and part DJ! I’m there to guide your guests, work alongside your venue and suppliers, keep everything flowing, and make sure the important moments land exactly as they should. A lot of what I do you’ll never even notice – welcoming guests, coordinating photographers, keeping an eye on timings – and that’s kind of the point. It means you can stay in the moment and enjoy your day without worrying about what’s coming next.
Q: What do you enjoy most about working at weddings?
The journey with each couple. From that first chat over a coffee, through the planning, to seeing it all come together on the day. There’s only one chance to get it right, and I take that responsibility seriously – but it’s also what makes it so rewarding. From watching the bride arrive for her walk up the aisle to playing the final song of the evening, everything about the wedding day resonates with me. I had no idea when I first started out in my teens I’d still be going strong almost 30 years later, but that’s only because I absolutely love it.
Q: What’s something couples are often surprised to learn about you?
I’m the emotional one. Give me a meaningful ceremony moment and I’ll probably be reaching for tissues in my jacket, usually for my use rather than anyone else’s! I’m not pretending to be the cool, detached DJ. I care about what’s happening in front of me. Away from weddings, I LOVE a Guinness (Dublin does the best I’ve ever tasted), and Gran Canaria – particularly Meloneras – is one of my favourite places in the world. I first visited in 2013 and have been back every year since.

Usually shown with his mouth wide open on photographs, Chris has been working alongside Matt since 2008, with the pair also doubling as best mates. He’s a confident and experienced Host, DJ and all round good guy!
Q: What first drew you to entertaining a crowd?
Christmas, when I was about seven or eight. Santa had brought me a black electric guitar and amp. The crowd? My poor unsuspecting family, who I’d forced to queue outside before letting them into the venue – the living room. With no knowledge of what a chord or note was, I performed the gnarliest 30 seconds of rock before experiencing cold feet for the very first time. My days of guitar solos are behind me, but my enthusiasm for entertaining has never left.
Q: What do you enjoy most about working at weddings?
Seeing the plan come together. Watching the ideas we’ve spoken about, written down, changed and re-written in the weeks before the wedding actually come to life – and seeing the look on a couple’s faces when it does – fills my cup every single time. I genuinely mean that.
Q: What do you hope couples remember most about their wedding?
That it was the start of an amazing, happy and fulfilling marriage. If I had to sum up what your wedding day means to me in a single word, it would be happy. I want you to look back on your day and feel it – in the memories, in the moments, and in everything that followed.
Q: What’s something couples are often surprised to learn about you?
Probably how long I’ve been part of the wedding world – given how young I clearly am! I’ve had the privilege of being part of so many incredible couples’ big days, and each one holds a place in my heart. I’ve worked alongside Matt since I was just 16, and I love seeing how couples make their day their own, year after year.

The quiet one…until he takes to the decks that is! Having recently tied the knot himself, Will knows what you’re going through and would love to be with you on the journey!
Q: When did music first become part of your life?
Music’s always been there for me. As a kid it was the radio (before mp3 downloads were a thing), then my trusty old iPod classic became an actual extension of my personality. Man, I loved that thing! I’ve always loved how a single track can change your mood in seconds.
Q: How do you help couples shape a soundtrack that feels personal?
I want your input. It’s important for couples to have influence over the soundtrack to their big day, from the music you walk down the aisle to, to the all important first dance. I discuss must-play songs and artists, and any do-not-plays to help create the perfect soundtrack. Once I know that, I can build a night that feels like you, while using my expertise to rock the dancefloor all night long.
Q: What would you say to couples who are feeling overwhelmed with planning?
Start planning early and delegate if need be. Vendors know this game inside out so speak to them. Visiting a Wedding Fayre is a great way to go and remember no question is a silly question. You don’t need to provide DJs with a list of 100 songs to play for example. Lean on your suppliers and remember you hired people because they know what they’re doing.
Q: What’s something couples are often surprised to learn about you?
That I didn't DJ my own wedding! You wouldn’t believe how many people asked if I was, I mean come on, even a DJ deserves a day off!

So, let’s be clear… definitely not a Host or DJ! That said, with a background in wedding and event management she can certainly control people when she needs to! Being a lover of all things social media, with an incredible eye for capturing content, Maid Of Content was a natural step, and as Matt’s wife she’s most definitely a key member of our team!
Q: How would you describe your role on a wedding day?
Think of me as your personal paparazzi – a shadow, capturing as many fun and magical moments as possible. I work alongside your photographer to get what’s often described as a behind-the-scenes version of your wedding day. With everything shot on an iPhone or two (and using plenty of other equipment as well), it’s not always polished – but it is real.
Q: How do you create the right atmosphere from start to finish?
It starts before the wedding day. I’ll usually meet you a couple of times beforehand, which means by the time the day arrives, we already have a rapport. When things get going, I focus on putting the bridal party at ease – plenty of laughter in the bridal suite tends to help. Throughout the day I find my focal points: the party animals, the emotional family members, the best friends, the kids. Making those connections means people barely notice me filming. And if I spot a moment you’d love to look back on? I’ll be there.
Q: What’s something couples are often surprised to learn about you?
That I’m deaf. I was born partially deaf, and I love the look of surprise on people’s faces when I tell them! I’m always upfront with couples from the start so they don’t think I’m being rude if I mishear something. It doesn’t stop me loving music and a good party though. I’m also a self-confessed cat person, cocktail enthusiast, and will never say no to anything cherry flavoured!
