‘When I grow up, I want to be a pilot!’ Yeah, that was the plan! But in year 9 of high school, something happened that saw me jet off on a different route entirely.

I took part in a school production, and as the curtain fell on the final night, thoughts quickly turned to the after party! I’m still not entirely sure how it happened, but I ended up taking on the role of DJ, playing songs to a hundred or so kids back to back on a couple of ghetto blasters. Even though I’ve gone on to perform at thousands of events over the last 28 years, that night will stay with me forever…it was the start of something which would shape my entire life!

With the help of my parents I bought some basic equipment and a couple of years later, at just 16, joined an entertainment agency in Manchester, with thoughts of flying people all over the world well and truly out of the window! I chose to study Lighting and Sound Design, all while working at some of the North West’s most prestigious venues as Host & DJ for weddings, corporate events and parties - not something that ‘just happened’. I spent hours and hours of my time researching music, learning how to DJ, and just as importantly how to use a microphone…and what to say!

On finishing college I decided to explore the idea of being a radio presenter, working on numerous community stations and eventually being accepted at the National Broadcasting School in Brighton in 2008.

Having studied there I worked at Key 103 in Manchester (the very station I’d grown up listening to!), before venturing across the water to the Isle of Man, an Island in honesty I knew very little about! I first took to the Manx airwaves as Breakfast Presenter at Energy FM, then in 2015 joined 3FM, where I now proudly host The Island’s Number 1 Breakfast Show for under 55’s, 3FM Breakfast, broadcasting to around 27,000 people every week!

When not on-air my role of Wedding Host & DJ keeps me incredibly busy, in fact we’re currently booking events up to three years in advance! My years of experience teamed with continuous learning mean I have a wealth of ideas on how to make your wedding day extra special and unique, something we saw recognised in 2024 as we picked up a Highly Commended certificate at The Wedding Industry Awards, the only Regional and National client-voted, expert-judged awards in the UK wedding industry.

So, as you embark on your wedding planning adventure, it would be an honour to be involved and help make your vision come to life. I’m here to ensure your wedding is not only memorable but a true reflection of you and your love story, so let’s work together to create an unforgettable experience that you and your guests will cherish forever!

Back when I was 15 and told I had to find somewhere to spend my school work placement, I had absolutely no idea of the journey I was about to embark on! I was accepted at Energy FM and soon discovered a passion for broadcasting, presentation and music. I also met one Mr. Matt Fletcher who shared the same passions himself! Little did we know that this was to become the first chapter in both our amazing friendship and my incredible career in radio and events!

During my last 12 months at school I took every opportunity to join Matt in the studio, on outside broadcasts, at club nights and at weddings and events, realising this was a golden opportunity to learn as much as I could, from a true professional! Before long, it was my turn to take to the airwaves and I began broadcasting to the Island every Sunday night.

Next on my list was to perform at events myself and soon the opportunity to provide the entertainment at a family friend’s birthday party came along. I seized the moment and gave it my all – a motto that remains true to this day for any event I’m working at.

The birthday girl and her guests had a great time and lots more events followed, as well as a DJ residency at one of the Island’s busiest nightspots!

All these years later, having taken three out to study radio at Westminster University, I progressed into a full-time role at 3FM, spending my weekends as a Wedding Host & DJ. Matt’s continued guidance has enabled me to host hundreds of weddings successfully and I have to confess…I am in fact a wedding addict, and not just because there’s cake…another thing I like quite a lot! I strive to be the best I can, by learning and evolving the skills and techniques needed to make every event a roaring success, so as you start to think about your big day, I’d love you to be my next wedding fix!

At 8 years old, I had this idea…I wanted to be a DJ! There were two portable cd players at home and very simply I’d listen to a song on one, then play a track on the other, then repeat! It wasn’t ‘mixing’, and knowing what I know now it wasn’t even DJing, but I loved it!

Some years later, having shown interest at a school disco, I got an invite to visit Manx Radio, and having always listened growing up was instantly fascinated! I asked loads of questions, observed everything and even ended up coming away with my very own personalised jingle! Being in my teens there was a suggestion I should contact Energy FM as I’d be a great fit in their team, so in 2009, I did just that and was welcomed in, with no idea it would be the start of a career…as an actual DJ!

As soon as I started I met both Matt and Chris - we all hit it off straight away. I’d spend as much time at the station as I could learning all about radio, and also join Matt at weddings, events and club nights he was involved in, finally learning how to mix music the right way and develop an understanding of the mobile entertainment industry.

Having reached my goal of being on the airwaves, my next challenge was to progress into being a club and event DJ! So, having picked up some of my own equipment, and a booking, I found myself at The Abbey in Ballasalla for a Christmas party. It’s a night I’ll never forget, as for the first time I was DJing solo, and the feeling I had as I played my first song and spoke to the audience on the microphone was absolutely immense! I still get that buzz today and am so often amazed I get to be with people to celebrate such special occasions as a wedding for my job!

Fast forward a few years and I can now be heard hosting Afternoons on Energy FM, as well as performing at Weddings and Events on the weekends! In 2026 it’ll be my turn to tie the knot, and before you ask…no, I won’t be DJing my own wedding, but with hundreds already under my belt I can say that it would be a true privilege to play a special part in yours!
